Why do we suffer from allergies?

An allergy is when your immune system reacts to a foreign substance that isn’t harmful. The body produces antibodies that are meant to protect your immune system from harmful invaders, such as bacteria. Even though the foreign substance that enters your body isn’t harmful, your body can use the antibodies to inflame parts of your body against the allergen. Seasonal allergies, which are usually experienced during the spring months, affect the sinuses, skin, and digestive system.

Natural Relief

Local Honey

There is pollen in honey. If you are allergic to the pollen, eating it over time can build up immunity to the allergen. Although some refute this idea, I have heard first-hand that people have gotten relief from eating honey daily. For this practice, you need to use a local unpasteurized or raw unfiltered honey. The honey needs to be local because the local pollens are the ones that you are directly exposed to.

Spirulina

Spirulina is a blue-green algae that inhibits the release of histamine. Over-the-counter allergy medicines have antihistamines to relieve allergy symptoms. Spirulina can work the same way. Spirulina comes in powder form. I like to add it to smoothies.

Smoothie
Coconut Water-1 cup
Spinach -a handful
Avocado – half
Peaches- 1 cup frozen peaches
SPIRULINA- teaspoon (I recommend starting slow until your body gets used to it & I also recommend you DO NOT smell it! Remember, it is a seaweed.)
Ground Flax Seed-1 teaspoon
Basil, Mint, and Parsley (a few leaves of basil and mint and small handful of parsley)

Probiotics

Back to my favorite subject-Gut Health. The gut influences the immune system, when the gut suffers so does the rest of the body. If you suffer from leaky gut the lining of the digestive tract becomes inflamed and porous, allowing bacteria, yeasts, and other toxins into the bloodstream. The immune system launches an attack on these toxins, which creates inflammation throughout the body. This inflammation manifests in different ways for different people. It can cause skin problems, digestive issues, chronic pain, and SEASONAL ALLERGIES. A probiotic can help balance the bacteria in your gut, which in turn supports your immune system and can relieve the symptoms of seasonal allergies.

As always, consult with a medical professional if you want to implement new practices in your health routine. I know a lot of people suffer from allergies, I hope this helps!
